Jeong Joon-yeon of Anyang Retires As An Active Player
Jung Joon-yeon will leave the ground where he has set his heart for the last time in the 2023 season.

FC Anyang said on the 18th, "Defender Jung Joon-yeon has decided to retire after ending his 16-year professional career. Jung Joon-yeon, who is retiring from active duty, will serve as Anyang's scouts from the 2024 season."

Jeong Joon-yeon, a native of Gwangyang Steel High School, made the K-League stage through the Jeonnam Dragons in 2008. After playing 82 K-League games for eight seasons in Jeonnam, he moved to Gwangju FC in 2014 and led the team to the first division by being given a steady chance to play in the first year of his transfer. After completing his military service at Sangju Sangmu, he returned to Gwangju again and contributed to Gwangju's victory in the K-League 2 in the 2019 season.

Jeong Joon-yeon, who joined Anyang in 2021, has contributed greatly to Anyang's advancement to the playoffs and the promotion of its players. Notably, he was appointed as Anyang's vice-captain in 2023 and led the team. The overall record in the K-League is three goals and five assists in 239 games.

"During my professional career since I was 20 years old, I never thought I was an outstanding player. However, I think I was desperate and sincere in every single game. Before I knew it, I played in the pro league for 16 years, and I still have regrets about my retirement. However, I decided to retire, thinking that it would be a great honor if I could start my second life in Anyang, my last team." 스포츠토토사이트

"I want to say thank you to all the coaches, coaching staff and colleagues who have been with me for 16 years. I am especially grateful to my wife and family who have helped me focus on soccer. It was a privilege as a player to play in Anyang while receiving love and support from my supporters. I will remember it forever in my heart," he said.
